DJ ACE RAMOS

djace

DJ Ace Ramos has emerged as one of the most renowned DJs in the Philippines. He sets himself apart from the rest by creating his own style. He does mash ups and mixes hip hop, rnb, elektro rock, and up-to-date tracks. He always strives to keep each set new and different and he will definitely keep the party crowd dancing until the wee hours of the morning, making him an exceptional figure in the club scene. Currently, he has residencies at Embassy Superclub in the Fort (Wednesday and Friday nights) and at Manor Superclub (Thursday and Saturday).

DJ Ace is also a regular fixture at events all over the country, rocking parties for celebrated festivals like Sinulog in Cebu, Masskara in Bacolod, Dinagyang in Iloilo, Sandugo in Bohol, Panagbenga in Baguio and Kadayawan in Davao. During the summer, he spins at Boracay, Cebu, and Bohol, among other places. He also frequently plays for special engagements such as corporate events for Nike Philippines (like NBA stars Kobe Bryant and Vince Carter in Manila), SMART, MTV, PLDT, Petron, UNO Magazine, MAXIM, and Bacardi among many others. He is also one of the most in demand djs for private parties such as birthdays, debuts, weddings, product and store launches, and school events.

At the young age of 12, DJ Ace started experimenting with the turntables. He saw DJ MOD at the 1990 DMC finals which inspired him to learn more and practice the art of becoming one himself. He cites DJ MOD, Mick Martinez, Kimosave, Elmer Dado, Nikki Jurado, Qbert, Melo-D, Icy Ice, Jazzy Jeff, Armin Van Buuren, Z-trip and Shortkut as his major influences. His first gig was at Winner’s Bar and Resto (Makati) in 1999. From then on, he went to establish his career as a club DJ, entertaining the night life scene by spinning behind the decks of Euphoria, Fashion Cafe, 78 Orange, Spoon, Coast 101,The Basement, Sibil, Dreams, Wasabi, Absinth, V-Bar, Temple and countless others. He is now a part of Styles Entertainment, a lifestyle and marketing entertainment agency. He has also played at Volar in Hongkong last February 2008.

But DJ Ace does not limit himself in the clubs. One of the highlights of his career was when he became a resident DJ of a hit variety show, Wowowee, last June to November 2008. He has appeared on other television gigs as well, performing at the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Launch and Studio 23’s Bay Break and Boracay Beach House to name a few. He has shared the stage with some of the world’s best DJs such as Power106’s Big Boy and Eman, David Morales, Apollo, Enferno, Remark, Qbert, Icy Ice, Steve Aoki, Shortkut, Virman, Echo and Roctakon among others. He has also played for after parties of various artists including Ne-yo, Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, POD, Ja Rule, and Backstreet Boys. He is currently signed by Nike and Lee Jeans Philippines as a product endorser as well.

For many years, DJ Ace has proven himself to be one of the most talented djs in the country. His next goal: invade the international scene!

A party is a surefire hit when DJ Ace spins and that’s guaranteed.

DJ Mark Nicosia

DJ Mark NicosiaI’m a true brown-skinned (meaning I speak kanto tagalog fluently) Pinoy disc jockey, wannabe turntablist and frustrated musician. I would like to be the purveyor of Manila’s brand of Electronic Funking (ElektroFunk). A self-proclaimed genre, where I compile the swingiest, sexiest, funkiest and “phattest” bass driven sets spanning everything under Electronic Dance Music and making everyone groove unbeknownst the crowd’s awareness.

Here’s how I see my night when I spin:
Pitch black darkness, only the bass drum is heard.
(Strobe light)
Silhouette’s of men and women gyrating close to each other – covered with sweat yet uninhibited (darkness again)
(Strobe light)
Arms flailed up and people are in bedlam
(Darkness again)

I am the 2008 Asian Finalist (Philippine representative) of Pioneer Digital Battle held in Bangkok Thailand; Champion of 2008 Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Long Mix Category; Motorola’s Moto Mash-up 2 campaign endorser. Chalk magazine September 2008 Edition 27 Young Trendsetters; 2009 May issue Garage Magazine’s Personal Style Section; 2nd runner up in the 2006 Pioneer Digital DJ battle Long Mix Category; creative consulting for the 2006 Calypso Events 2nd year Anniversary held at Embassy Main room; Creator of Lokallooper.com; and co-authored Looper Beat Academy’s Beginner and Intermediate
DJ courses.

The most recent gigs that I was honored to be part of were Global One’s fourth year anniversary party, CLASSIC ’99 and World Wide Womb’s KASKADE at Skydome. Working with mixing geniuses such as Kaskade, Manolet Dario, Bombi Balquiedra and Marc Naval were already events of its own.

Emcee Paolo Avila

Emcee PaoloM.C. Paolo Avila is one of the freshest and newest Club M.C.’s in the scene today. Starting off as a heavy party-goer and a hardcore fan of Rap and Hip Hop Music, he got familiar with the manila Club scene and the essentials of a great party. He started a member of the promotions team of Jive Fridays, that later led to hitting the mic and entertaining the crowd.

For MC Paolo, his work is not about him but is about getting the club poppin’, the crowd hyped, and the vibes flowing. His active and fresh style is something new and unique as compared to that of the older MC’s he looks up to. M.C. Paolo Avila has been doing his thing for almost 3 years now, over at Jive Fridays, every Friday which used to be held at temple Bar, Greenbelt 2 and has now transferred to a new home Manor Superclub in Eastwood City.

MC Paolo can be seen in the Hottest Spots in the metro rockin’ the microphone and making sure that everyone has a good time. He constantly strives to be a master of his craft and has been honored enough to have been able to work with some of Manila’s greatest hip hop D.J.’s in the likes of DJs Ace Ramos, DJ Darrel D, and DJ Randy Nayve and many more.

Not only has he rocked the party here in Manila but has also gone provincial. Hitting cities like Pampanga, Cebu, Bohol, and even the island of Boracay together with some of Manila’s top DJ’s.

At Present, you can find him holding it down at Wicked Wednesdays at Manor Superclub, JIVE Fridays also at Manor, and Sleepless Saturdays held at Embassy Superclub, Fort Global City Taguig, some of the, if not THE hottest clubs in MANILA.

These events are one of a kind, and we can say that you haven’t really experienced Manila’s Nightlife until you’ve been to one of MC Paolo’s Parties.

DJ Aryan

djaryan2

DJ Aryan got his first experience with the turntables at the age of 11. Thru his older brother, he started experimenting scratching and beatmatching with a really cheap pair of direct drive decks and a mixer. Getting his first ever gig in his elementary school graduation, it wasn’t really a dj set because his classmates just want to hear Vanilla Ice or Technotronic during the afternoon party. Buying records was really difficult for him and his older brother making them save up their daily allowances and setting a goal of getting at least 2 new records each month striving to update their small vinyl collection.

He started making mixtapes in high school for close friends who provided their own blank cassettes. Hiphop was really big during that time and those who get the tapes enjoyed listening to Naughty By Nature, Young Black Teenagers, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg etc. according to his style of mixing. It was always a routine for him to spin for about an hour each day after coming home from school then skate afterwards.

In his college days, he took deejaying for a break and started getting into another musical hobby, an alternative rock band. His brother as the drummer and Aryan as the guitarist and frontman together with their 2 close friends. It was all just for fun and meeting new friends in school got him into another band but now as the drummer. As his exposure on the rockband scene in their school grew, he met a really talented band doing gigs around the metro and asked him to get on board as their DJ/turntablist ala-Incubus. As a band DJ and being exposed to bars and clubs, he saw the potential of getting back to what he was doing before, a real DJ who plays Hiphop.

After leaving the band in 2001, Aryan got his first club gig thru a good friend with a fee just enough for him to gas up his car on his way home. He got regular gigs in the Quezon City area while balancing his time reviewing for his Civil Engineering Board Exam. DJ Steve Mills from Toronto who’s based in Manila that time discovered him on an event where Aryan opened for him. That started his career with Flavastreet Entertainment and now called VIBE Manila Entertainment, an events production company that has been doing events around the Philippines since 1997.

Having weekly recidencies in different nightspots in Makati and Quezon City such as Pravda, Wasabi, Absinth, Fiamma, Club V, Ascend, Dolce and other happening places, he also gets regular Philippine tours bringing the real party to the world class beach of Boracay Island, Bacolod, Ilo-ilo, Zamboanga and Cagayan De Oro. Aside from that, getting booked in Saigon, Vietnam with a guesting at BOUNCE Ho Chi Minh City playing alongside DJ Stanley (Sydney) and headlining at SQUA.Red Ho Chi Minh City.

DJ Aryan has been doing mixtapes for VIBE’s supporters thru giveaways or online downloads aside from music production and doing remixes for local indie artists and bands. His latest, called The A for EFFORT mixtape is something he can say that is really about his musical taste and style, with hiphop and r&b mixed with classics, rock and electronica into it. The CD received praises from the supporters and was said to be something fresh and more than what they typically hear from the clubs.

With 8 years of club experience, DJ Aryan is considered as one of the pioneer dj’s in Manila’s nightlife.

DJ Ryan Pamatmat

dj pamatmat

Ryan’s passion for music is the sole reason that drove him to dive into the Dance Scene, bringing in his Deep, Minimal and Funky Techno tracks that generates an uplifting atmosphere of euphoria.  Starting off in a Rock Band, Ryan decided to take his career to the next level and immediately found his avidity and calling for DJ’ing. At the age of 16, he started learning how to DJ by spinning and mixing tracks at home using his brother’s old turntables and CDJs and eventually learned the art.  With the help of the other DJs he met during that time, he landed several guest gigs at Club Spoon in 2000 with DJs David Ardiente, Martin Pulgar, and Elmer Dado; and from there, he knew that this is what he was born to do…

Since then, he followed his passion and ended up being the Resident DJ of Mustang for 2 years.  He also had a couple of Underground Events in 2001, and Summer / Sembreak gigs at Boracay in 2003 and 2004.  Aside from that, he had several gigs at Flava and Absinth and had a 3-month Residency at Clubs in Iloilo City.  He was featured in Audio Video Etc. Magazine in 2004 as one of the most promising DJs to watch out for.

He took a break from the scene to finish his studies at DLSU; and after a few years, he made a comeback and continued his passion for DJ’ing.

This year, DJ Ryan is on his peak once again, landing in Club Events nationwide.  DJ Ryan has also worked with some of the finest production teams in the country; Domini Primero’s Driven Manila, Events Masters Corporation, Curv Entertainment, Up Beat Entertainment, Spinner Productions, Marked Productions, Events Authority, lokalloopers, Manila Underground, Rewired, and Toti Dalmacion’s Groove Nation.

At present, DJ Ryan has already started his international career by opening for BIG name international DJs such as DJ/Producer John “00” Fleming of J00F recordings and Ministry of Sound and UK DJ Gary Gecko of Gecko Samui (Thailand).  DJ Ryan, together with his production team, FREQUENCY MANILA, is already making headlines nationwide, with gigs lined up in Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Boracay, and more.  DJ Ryan is part of Frequency Manila, a company specializing in international events production and is making its way to the top bringing in foreign acts from around the international dance community.

DJ JP

DJ JPSACABEN

JP Sacaben, also known as DJ JP, has always revolved his life around music as early as 10 years old. He then started getting invites left and right to play at gigs, small clubs and house parties. But it took a few years of hard work to discover his real talent as a DJ.

Anyone who’s spent more than an hour in a club knows that there are two types of DJs: those who play records and those who play crowds. DJ JP was the master in the latter group, uniquely able to transport the crowd to the highest heights. He was a master at mixing house and hard techno sets that drove crowds insane. His variety of music is from House, Hip-Hop, minimal, funky, electro, R&B, Mash Ups . Any music with energy, soul and depth and anything that sounds good.

Together with his partner in the legendary group called the Tranceformers, they collaborated and started tranceforming tracks such as Kimblee’s “Fade” and Kaskade’s “Everything”. By gaining months of experience with his residency at Mezze!, Azzurro Bar (in Linden Suites together with DJ Nix, DJ Martin and the Cura Brothers), and other hot local clubs in the metro, such as Temple, Il Ponticello, Fig & Olive, Club Manhattan, Alchemy, Ascend, Tabu, Café Mondial, Club Eleven 50(Cagayan De Oro), Azzurro, Chops Bar, Piedra, M1nt, Absinth, Warehouse 135, Embassy Cuisine, Embassy Fly, Hey Jude! Boracay, Breakfast Club, Peoples Palace, Rockcandy, Club Government,Club Paraw Boracay, Juice Bar Boracay, Lakeshore Pampangga, Mimosa Hilltop Pampanga and Dolce Superclub, DJ JP himself learned his strong points as a DJ.

He opened for Korea’s #1 DJ/Producer, DJ Ahn at TranceRaid Manila.

He also won the Motorolla IDJ “Rise of the Motorokr iDJs” at Embassy Superclub.
